Where I went to college, degrees that I have earned, and experience:
My background includes a wide variety of educational experiences with students from all grade levels, 3-12. I have a bachelor’s degree from Wiley College, and I am currently enrolled in the Educational Leadership & Supervision program at Indiana State University. I worked as a teacher for 9 years in the elementary school, and high school in the Gary Public School System. I was a case manager for the Crisis Center, which allowed me to work with a variety of social service programs for students of all grade levels.
Why I love teaching:
I pursued education because teaching allows me to give back to the community as it has a direct impact on a young child’s life. My work with the criminal justice system has also allowed me to help students who needed additional support to finish their educational careers.
What I love to do outside of school:
I love to spend time with my family and enjoy doing arts and craft projects.
